I remember my noobie days. A friend had the game and said i should get it. Little did I know that the game had two parts to it. i figured it out when i was just about to go to post, then i decided to explore some more. This was my first char, and he was (still is) a R/Mo. I didnt even know that Foilbles Fair and the other outposts existed. I had Ascalon and Ashford abbey, and that was it. I also remember running around with a sword and shiled for a while (before i learned that the reason i couldnt deal much dmg wsa b/c my bow skills were greyed out). I finlly left pre at lvl 6 (still not sure how i did, with no towns or stuff). My freind was helpful, and got me into his guild as soon as i was out of pre. Then he ran me to piken, and really saved me from my noobness. Now I am ascended with infused armor and almost at the end. But when I think back to pre when I first joined the game, that was where i had the most fun.

My first character, my lovely ranger, forgot to read Tydus' "you can't come back" warning. I thrust myself out of Pre-sear a bit early with her, and then found myself in Old Ascalon spamming for help on how to get back.

Gotta love that Pre/Post Searing crap. It screws up almost everyone.

I miss Pre-Searing.. And just anything with being a noob.

My FAVORITE part of being a noob (A lot of you will agree with this), is I didn't know what perfect mods and sup vigor or drok's armor was. So I was able to play through the game the way it was intended, and not worry about having the perfect character. Heck I never bought a vigor until a month into the game with my first character.. I used to farm Mergoyles, 2k every 30 minutes.. I thought I was rich.

Newbies Days....loved em. I didn't even HEAR about W/Mo being good...I simply came to the same common sense Tough Armor/Self Heal choice.

I loved pre-searing, I still do, I wish there was a place in post searing to get back to that...

Anyway, I was one of those newbies that higher levels liked having around. I generally ran around dying on my own and finding stuff out before I decided to ask anyone(I have natural rpg intuition). Basically, I figured out enough about the game to ask intelligent questions and never really had much trouble getting into the game.

Hence, I can't really think of a "noobish" thing I did....and no being a W/Mo wasn't noobish, I've never regreted it.

My favorite noob recollection was not allocating any attribute points to any of my skills until I got to Yak's Bend. I was afraid that once you spent them you were locked into those skills permanently (i.e. I wasn't aware of what attribute refund points were at the time), and I couldn't decide between sword, axe or hammer...

I was the polar opposite of that. I had points spread into everything...had no focus at all, and couldn't figure out why I did not damage. Took the tutoring of my first guild to thoroughly grasp the concept of attributes.

Yeah I remember that. I spend all my points in sword and strenth, I needed them for my shield and sword. Somewhere in Kryta I was talking to somebody about that I would make another Warrior for an Axe warrior and he was all "LOL you can change your skills at any time in an outpost".

On my first character, for some unknown reason I got it in my head that the last inventory bag was different to the first and kept looking for the elusive last storage bag at merchants and collectors all the way to the desert before I realised. I also though that dying my weapon purple would make it a purple weapon.

Read the thread from beginning to end - so many thinks I did too.

My worst moment - first into post sear, left ascalon (like you do pre) on my own and could not understand why I kept on dieing. It took me a looooong while to figure it all out.

First time I dropped black die I had no space for it - so I left it. Could not understand why people were screaming at me!!

Made a Me/N to start, didn't know about henchmen for a long time. Tried to solo post-searing ascalon.

I have 3,200 deaths. Now you know why.

Played mainly with a bunch of friends from RL/other games, when I got black dye (in north shiverpeaks) and sold it for 15k they were all 'WTF?!' Ahh, fun. Entering a new zone for the first time was awesome.

I had a few interesting moments in my first time of play. Of course I did the usual 'sell dye to merchant for 1g'

Though one of the funniest mistakes I actually made was that for a while in pre-searing, I had no idea what these 'attribute points' were, and I figured I could do without them. Found them pretty cool when I finally realised what they did.

My first character being a W/Mo, sadly no longer with us, was so excited when he found out he could actually farm one of the fist mission areas for Char hides.

These he would sell in Ascalon to all the eager buyers, in retrospect too eager. Then one day, after another successful hide sell, he gets asked if he’s a Noob. He’s then told by a very nice, but slightly sarcastic, level 20 something that Char hides can be exchanged for Fur Squares.

You may have noticed that I, by using the second person, have tried to, and successfully in my view, proportioned all the blame to this on the dumb warrior and not myself.

Ahh yes those were the days, I remeber them fondly, except for the Fort Ranik mission. When I was with my mesmer, and though wow more Char to kill, luckily I got resed when they triggered the "Trebuche" video.

Those were the days, when I though blue weapons were pretty cool and good enough for me.

The first time I did the dukes daughter quest, it took four hours to finally beat it....I couldn't deal with returning to town just to rid myself of DP...this was back in early August (I believe then, Althea's ghost only spawned WAY out in the boondocks) I would slay one char at a time...going smack dab throuhg the middle of Diessa Lowlands..I was sober when I started and drunk when I finished...good times

The things that stick out in my mind are with my first 2 characters, my R/Me went post searing at lvl 2 as I didn't read any of the quest descripts and got dragged through by mistake. Aso making it to Yak's with presearing armor as I didn't know i could change it for better armor, i did get a few comments as I wast he first to die regardless of what we attacked

My Mo/E was full fire support with meteor shower 12 in fire magic and only Healing breeze, untill someone took me aside and explained that maybe i should just make an ele if I wanted to set stuff on fire

Ah the good old days of knowing nothing and thinking you know it all
